Twilight Jam Flatland
Only two people entered Am flat so the pros and the ams rode together. I couldn't tell who was who until the prizes were given out and they called up the ams for their swag.
I must confess here that while I love watching flat I have jack zero idea what anybody's doing here, I also don't really remember anyone's name, so I'm just going to babble on incoherently. If you've made it this far you're used to that, anyway.
This guy is doing that thing on your back wheel when you step and do that
thing. Crap, why couldn't he just do a cherrypicker?
This guy has a lot of tattoos. His name may or may not be Damien. The Mrs.
called him "one of the Herre
Bros." because of the color of his bike
Aaron Behnke is here doing a G-Turn, but then he's going to do something
else. It's all very complicate, you wouldn't understand.
This guy organized the whold BMX Jam shebang. His last name is Dowker, his
first name may or may not be "Jo(h)n" I don't know, they said
it but some woman was proudly displaying her new implants during flat. I'm
only a man.
Feet should not do what his feet are doing.
If you just glance at this picture, this guy - due to his tall, lanky frame
- looks like Dave Chappelle in the R. Kelly sketch. I kept wanting to say,
"I ride flatland, bitch!" Even though that's entirely the wrong
sketch.
This guy may or may not be named Damien, Papa Kent kept saying that he has
the hottest rear wheel links of all time, but all I got from him is front
wheel links. I'm horrible that way.
There was a two year old kid who was entirely fascinated with my dogs and
this guy's seat. That has nothing to do with the tricks, or the picture,
but I'm not a good writer.
...and then he did the thing and the front wheel, while DJ Metronome works
the ones and twos. Y'know, I will always remember a picture of 15 year old
Gabe Kadmiri rockin' cornrows. I'm glad he outgrew that.
And then the man he steps right up to the microphone
