FInal Exam Jam 2007

Welcome To The TErrordome

Boom

You can see Kent manning the videocamera bottom right of all the pictures. This one was a keeper. The thing that trips me out is, my camera shoots at 3 frames per second, look at the first two pictures.

So, after this we went to Advanced Auto Parts, which is about as random a thing as we could've done. Steve needed stuff to clean his wheels. Everyone else needed to, uhm, hang in the parking lot and wait on Steve, since he knew where he was going. I did not know where I was going because I was at the tail end of a five car/truck/trucklet caravan. You know what you find out when you're the fifth car in a five car caravan? Red lights in Athens are loooooooooooooooong.

Moving on.

We finally got to the parking lot and I met the Kent Pearson family and handed Mr. Athens Family a copy of "Freestyle Biking at 'The Spot.'" Riders and former riders of a certain age can appreciate a video of Fred Blood, Chris Day, RL Osborn, Robert Smart, Doug Randazzo and Dino DeLuca riding. But, you're really not that interested in that, so on to

This kid spent most of his time practicing for the sitdown wheelie contest. I don't know what place he came in, but as we used to say, boy could walk that bike.

Can somebody help me with this kid's name? I know he came down from North Cakalaka with Bryan Huffman (who you can see doing his thing in the back) but for the life of me I can't remember kid's name.

At some point here I have to point out that it was I was wearing a Lynyrd Skynyrd shirt, standing in front of a PA blaring "Don't Sweat the Technique." I'm no hip hop fan, but "Don't Sweat the Technique" is one of them songs. If you don't know what I mean, you're dead inside.

There were two brothers from Canada with very Irish names (Declan and Lochlan? Shamus and Seamus?) who came down for the jam. Both of them where, uhm, pedal challenged. One had a bike with pegs attached to his bottom bracket and would randomly pull rocket truckdriver bunnyhops. This one broke one pedal off and would occasionally spin fast enough to throw parts into the crowd. Oh yeah, he had a camo paintjob.

Bryan Huffman is a name that I knew from the back of Ride, but I couldn't have ID'd the guy if he was driving a railroad tie thru my ear. that's him in the red being all Bryan Huffmanny. Behind him is Dowker (what's his first name again, Cleophus? LeRoi? Jermaine?) about to do something in front of the truck of his newest sponsor. I'll give them this, Monkey Brains is a name that sticks with you.

Alright, that's all for this installment. I have a life to deal with.
